This ideal situation won't last forever. Figure out what is next, and start training for it. (Otherwise you become one of the old admins clinging to your way of doing things, and slowly becoming obsolete).


I'm here at Hacker News keeping current - it's part of what I do with my idle time at work.

I generally use the fireman analogy when talking about idle time for admins. There's not always a fire.


Agreed 100%. Always expect that sooner or later there will be a housecleaning, and if keep current you will be prepared.
