The article leaves out an important contextual quote from Oz: “In the best-case scenario, I don’t think you should drink alcohol, but it does allow people an excuse to bond and socialize, and there’s probably nothing healthier than having a good time with friends in a safe way.”

Actually seems more aligned with the WHO, who now advises that no amount of alcohol is safe.

Realistically, how many drinkers knew the USDA had a recommended “moderate drinking” guideline that flowed to the CDC anyway? People are going to do what they’re going to do. The alcohol cat is out of the bag and we’ve seen that it won’t go back in, at least at the hands of the government.



Booze is the Republican drug of choice.
