Getting more difficult each year to ignore that persistent voice telling me to permanently disconnect from the machines.

Just stay off the big planforms. The old weird internet is alive and well if you know where to look.

TikTok was my favorite form of the old weird internet. I saw that guy who modeled all the boroughs of New York City when he only had a few hundred likes: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=45261877

where would we even start looking?

Use https://marginalia-search.com/ to search for things. Check the "blogs" tab.

Wonder what the license fees will be

God forbid a left-wing billionaire does..anything. Thanks for letting us all get thrown to the wolves, boys.

Is there such a thing as a left-wing billionaire?

George Soros comes to mind.

Is that a joke? I don't see any more pro-capital, pro neo-liberalism person you can point too. At least Buffet acknowledge the class war (and bet on it to make money, but that's beside the point).

Thats awesome, I'm so glad someone like Larry Ellison of all people get to influence the American youth for the next decade. /s

That’s a big shift.

Remember when Facebook and Twitter both froze Trumps social media accounts? ( This happened after encouragement from Vice President Harris. )

Maybe it’s time to put some bipartisan laws around this kind of thing.

Harris may have called for it, but the incitement and Jan 6th was the cause for Facebook and Twitter to suspend his account.

Positioning any other way is to lead the conversation unjustly.

This happened after inciting an insurrection.
